Meet Chris

I’m Chris Cowart, owner of Washed New. I was born in El Paso, grew up in Texas, and eventually made my way to Paragould after spending two years in India doing philanthropic work. My wife is from Paragould, and after we came back from India, we moved here to be closer to her family. Since then, my family has moved here too, and Paragould has become home.

My wife and I have two boys, both with autism and other special needs, plus a house full of animals: three dogs, two cats, chickens, ducks and one non-flying, land-bound Canadian goose. And that’s just the domesticated side. We also share our space with deer, possums, armadillos, groundhogs, fish and more Canadian geese.

So when I say I understand messes, odors and the importance of a clean, functional space, I mean it. Between our family, our animals and our time overseas, my wife and I have developed a real appreciation for spaces that help people feel safe, comfortable and able to function well.

That shapes the way I run Washed New. Cleaning is not just about making something look better for a little while. It’s about understanding the whole situation, what the space is used for, what problem needs to be solved and what result will actually make life easier.
